🇪🇺 European Union gives five Caribbean countries until 2028 to end their Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programmes.
The countries concerned are: 🇦🇬 Antigua & Barbuda
🇩🇲 Dominica
🇬🇩 Grenada
🇰🇳 St. Kitts & Nevis
🇱🇨 Saint Lucia
Failure to comply could result in the suspension of visa-free access to the Schengen Area for their passport holders.

أعلنت المديرية العامة للأمن العام، بأن واعتبارا من تاريخه، سيُصار إلى إلغاء جوازات السفر اللبنانية من الأنموذج 2003، غير البيومترية، أي تلك التي تبدأ أرقامها التسلسلية بعبارة "RL" عند دخول حامليها إلى الأراضي اللبنانية.

ويأتي هذا الإجراء في ضوء اعتماد وثائق السفر البيومترية على الصعيد الدولي، وعدم قبول الكثير من الدول لهذه الجوازات لإنجاز إجراءات الدخول أو العبور، انسجاماً مع المعايير والمواصفات المعتمدة من قبل منظمة الطيران المدني الدولي(ICAO) .

عليه، تدعو المديرية العامة للأمن العام جميع المواطنين اللبنانيين حاملي جوازات السفر من الأنموذج "٢٠٠٣" إلى المبادرة بالتقدّم من الدوائر والمراكز الإقليمية التابعة لها لاستبدالها بجوازات سفر لبنانية بيومترية جديدة، تفادياً لأي تأخير أو عوائق قد تواجههم أثناء السفر.
