A Message from Serenity Vacations & Tours
It is with profound sadness that Serenity Vacations & Tours announces the passing of our co-founder and co-owner, Caroline Mathurin, who left us on February 7th.
Caroline was far more than a business partner. She was the heart and compass of Serenity Vacations & Tours. She was the chief architect of our Ambassador Service Model; a philosophy rooted in genuine care, presence, and meaningful person-to-person connection. This approach, which so many of you have come to know and cherish, was Caroline in action.
Within the global travel community, Caroline was also widely celebrated as the creator of Carol’s Creole Cooking Class, an experience born from her love of culture, food, storytelling, and human connection. What began as a deeply personal expression of Saint Lucian heritage went on to earn international recognition, including being featured in the New York Times Travel section in November 2022. Caroline took immense pride in using cuisine as a bridge- -bringing people together, honoring tradition, and creating unforgettable shared moments.
Caroline was well respected and loved for her ability to build authentic relationships, with guests, past clients who became dear friends, and travel trade partners who grew into trusted collaborators across the world. These relationships endure today because they were built on sincerity, warmth, and mutual respect - hallmarks of Caroline’s way.
She believed passionately in travel as a force for good and was a strong advocate for a community-assisted tourism economy, one that uplifts people, honors culture, and ensures tourism benefits the communities at its heart. That belief remains central to who we are.
As we grieve, we also commit, clearly and publicly, to honoring Caroline’s legacy. We will continue to carry forward her values, her compassion, and her unwavering belief in humanity as the fuel that drives Serenity Vacations & Tours forward.
Caroline will remain our eternal star, guiding us, inspiring us, and reminding us always that how we make people feel matters most.
Thank you for the love, messages, and support you continue to share with the Serenity family.
