Pinnawala is a village in Sri Lanka, renowned for its Elephant Orphanage. Established in 1975, this unique institution serves as a sanctuary for orphaned, injured, and abandoned elephants, offering them care and protection. Situated on a former coconut plantation along the Maha Oya River, Pinnawala provides a spacious environment for these majestic creatures.

What began with just a handful of elephants has grown into the largest herd in captivity in the world. Visitors have the opportunity to witness the daily lives of these gentle giants, including their feeding times, where baby elephants are bottle-fed, and their refreshing baths in the river, a spectacle of playful interaction.

Sigiriya, also known as Lion Rock, is an ancient rock fortress located in the Matale District of Sri Lanka. This UNESCO World Heritage site is 2 a massive granite rock that rises approximately 200 meters above the surrounding plains, offering breathtaking panoramic views.
Historically significant, Sigiriya was built during the reign of King Kasyapa I (477–495 AD), who transformed it into a royal citadel with elaborate fortifications, beautiful water gardens, and stunning frescoes. The most iconic feature is the massive lion's paws carved at the entrance, from which the name "Lion Rock" is derived.

Peradeniya Botanical Garden is the largest and one of the most famous botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. Also, it is known to be the oldest botanical garden in Sri Lanka. It is located in Peradeniya town, Kandy district, Central Province. Peradeniya Botanical Garden is a botanical garden that is in the wet zone of Sri Lanka. The whole land area on which the botanical garden is spread is known to take the shape of a horseshoe. Therefore, there is a lot of unique variety in plants that are specifically grown in the wet zone of Sri Lanka. If you are to visit Sri Lanka, it is a must-visit place. This is one of the most highly recommended places to visit if you are planning to visit Kandy during your tour around Sri Lanka.

The Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a cultural and spiritual gem nestled in the heart of Sri Lanka. The temple complex is perched atop a massive granite outcrop and comprises five caves, each with its unique significance and stunning artistry.

As you ascend the steep steps leading to the caves, you are greeted by an impressive golden Buddha statue that overlooks the lush surrounding landscape. The caves themselves are a mesmerizing testament to the skill and devotion of ancient craftsmen and artists.

Inside the caves, the walls and ceilings are adorned with intricate and vibrant frescoes that depict various scenes from the life of Buddha and other important figures in Buddhism.
