To see a Blue Whale in its natural habitat is something most of us can only dream of. To see more than one in a lifetime would be very rare experience reserved only for a few fortunate lot. The good news is that in Sri Lanka you can see so many of those blue whales just minutes from the island’s southern shore. Apart from Kalpitiya, other destinations to view these marvels is identified as the North-East Coast and the south coast of Sri Lanka in the likes of Trincomalee, Batticaloa Kirinda, Bentota, Hikkaduwa, Alutgama, Mirissa and Ambalangoda . Dolphin and Whale watching on the northeast coast is said to be at its height between June and September, whereas the south coast is more popular during the months between January and April .
