Damsila Resources (Pvt.) is a family owned mining and mineral export company. Prior to being registered as Damsila Resources (Pvt.) Ltd., Mr. Arthur Dalpatadu, the Father of the current Managing Director of our company was the pioneer exporter of phlogopite mica and other minerals from Sri Lanka since 1969. Damsila focuses on the resources industry in Sri Lanka. The company’s main office is in Colombo. Regional offices and main processing centres are in the Matale District. Our main interest lies in mining and export of phlogopite mica from Sri Lanka under semi processed and powder form. The main mine is in Atipola in the Matale District and the other mines are in Badulla, Anuradhapura and Kandy Districts. The main processing centre is located at Palapathwela in the Matale. We have the distinction of being the premier mica mining and export Company in Sri Lanka. We own and operates the only fully developed mica mine within Sri Lanka. Our products are exported to Japan, China, Germany and India. Approximately 90% of phlogopite mica exported from Sri Lanka is through our company. At present about 65% of phlogopite mica product is sent to Japan. We have longstanding relationships with many of our customers who have trusted us over the years for the quality and timely delivery of our products. Facilities

On October 9, our Director, Dr. Sandun Dalpatadu, in his capacity as the Sector Advisory Chairman for the Minerals & Allied Industries Sector, participated in an important meeting organized by the Ministry of Industries. Dr. Dalpatadu, along with other industry sector advisory chairmen, trade chamber representatives, and key industrialists, engaged in discussions with the newly appointed Secretary of the Ministry of Industries, senior officials, and special representatives from the Prime Minister’s Office. During this meeting, Dr. Dalpatadu highlighted critical challenges facing the mineral resource sector in Sri Lanka.

Silica Quartz Micronized Powder Facility Commissioning Ceremony

We are excited to announce the successful commissioning of the First Phase of our Silica Quartz Micronized Powder Production Facility on August 29th, 2024. The event was graced by our esteemed technical partners from Japan, the Director General and Senior Management of the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau, Senior State Officials representing various institutions such as the Industrial Development Board, our banking partner Nations Trust Bank, and our dedicated staff.

This new state-of-the-art facility at the IDB Industrial Estate, Kaludewala, Matale, marks a significant achievement for Damsila Resources. We are committed to delivering the highest quality micronized silica quartz powder to meet growing demand in various sectors including semiconductors, solar, automobile, coatings, etc.

Empowering Our Workforce with Health & Safety

At Damsila Resources Pvt Ltd, we believe in prioritizing the well-being of our employees. On August 23, 2024, we organized a successful medical camp and awareness program for all workers at the Atipola Underground Mine in collaboration with the Mahawela PMC unit. This initiative aimed to provide essential health check-ups, promote safety practices, and educate our workforce on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
