Checking Weather apps!!

I get it, you book your 2 week family holiday, the excitement is real all you want to know is that you will see some sunshine (especially if you are from the UK!)

BUT...

Sri Lanka is a tropical island, the weather is unpredictable, even for the weather apps. So, yes, even in the dry seasons you can still experience rain🌧️.

However, it is often only short down pours then it's back to beautiful sunshine ☀️

Also most people travel around the island to experience all Sri Lanka has to offer, so you will also experience different weather. Just be prepared, bring a light rain jacket and enjoy 😄

And try not to check those apps, because 9 times out of 10 they are wrong!!

But here’s what you won’t see in the headlines:

✨ Most tourist areas are still open
✨ Flights are running as normal
✨ Hotels, drivers + small businesses are ready to welcome families
✨ Your visit genuinely helps recovery

This island is strong, resilient and full of heart.
If you have a holiday booked, please don’t cancel it out of fear. If anything, this is when your trip matters the most.

When you’re travelling with kids, peace of mind matters more than ever.
Here’s what families need to know before landing in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰👇

✅ Yes, you need it. Medical care is affordable but private hospitals can be pricey without coverage.
🌴 Choose a family policy that covers adventure activities (safaris, surfing, etc.) and flight changes.
💊 Keep documents handy — print copies + digital backups.
📞 Save emergency numbers for your insurer & local embassy.

We never travel without it — it’s the one thing you hope you never need but are so glad to have 💛
