The Forest Retreat is situated on the Beverley Tea Estate bordering the Sinharaja Forest Reserve ( โLion Kingdomโ) in Sri Lankaโs southern provinces. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and, due to its rich biodiversity, the countryโs last viable area of primary tropical rainforest. An area of outstanding natural beauty, the Reserve consists of untouched virgin forest, pure streams of spring water, and a thriving ecosystem of flora and fauna endemic to Sri Lanka, many of which are considered rare. Given the highly sensitive and important nature of our location, we have a strong sense of responsibility as guardians of this land for preserving and caring for the environment and the communities who live here. While we are at the early stages of development, in line with this we are committed to becoming a 100% plastic-free and carbon neutral site. To help offset our emissions and contribute to local and national conservation efforts, we operate a tree planting program and will plant one tree for every guests that stays with us. We can also arrange for you to plant your own tree during your stay.
