In light of the escalating security tensions and the sudden closure of regional airspace, eTravelSpace is issuing this consolidated advisory for all our valued passengers.
βοΈ Flight Cancellations: SriLankan Airlines
SriLankan Airlines has officially cancelled multiple scheduled services to and from the Middle East today due to safety concerns. The following sectors are currently affected:
From Colombo: Riyadh (UL265), Kuwait (UL229), Dammam (UL253), Dubai (UL225), and Doha (UL217).
To Colombo: Riyadh (UL266), Kuwait (UL230), Dammam (UL254), Dubai (UL226), and Doha (UL218).
Important: If you are an outbound passenger, please wait for a direct call or notification from the airline before traveling to the airport.
π Emergency Visa Relief Measures
Sri Lanka (Outbound): Travelers currently in Sri Lanka who are unable to depart due to these cancellations are eligible for a free 7-day visa extension from their current expiry date.
UAE & India (Inbound): Overstay fines caused by involuntary flight delays are generally being excused. Please retain all cancelled flight documents and boarding passes as proof for immigration authorities.
π Safety & Support for Stranded Passengers
Right to Care: If you are currently in transit (e.g., in Abu Dhabi or Dubai), your airline is responsible for providing hotel accommodation and meals until flights resume.
Stay Indoors: Passengers in the Gulf region should follow "seek shelter" alerts and stay away from windows.
