Muhudu Maha Vihara is a Buddhist temple situated at Pottuvil in Ampara District, Eastern province of Sri Lanka. This temple which is situated near a wide beach, has been built over 2000 years ago by King Kavan Tissa of Ruhuna

Magul Maha Viharaya is an ancient Buddhist temple situated in Lahugala, Ampara District of Sri Lanka. The temple lies on the northern edge of the Lahugala National Park, about 22 km off from Siyambalanduwa town and about 11 km off Pottuvil town. Lahugala has been part of the Kingdom of Ruhuna in ancient Sri Lanka. The ruins of Magul Maha Vihara are one of the major tourist attractions of the Eastern province. This temple is also an archaeologically protected monument of the country.

The Batticaloa Fort was built by the Portuguese in 1628 and was captured by the Dutch on 18 May 1638. From 1745, the fort was used by the British. The fort has a structure of four bastions and is protected by the Batticaloa Lagoon on two sides and a canal on the other two sides.

Mahatma Gandhi Park is a park situated on Bazaar Street in Batticaloa. It is a modern park located along the Batticaloa lagoon waterfront in the heart of Batticaloa which is a popular area for locals and tourists to take a stroll. There is a golden statue of Mahatma Gandhi built to honor this great Indian leader.

The bridge was built in 1924 during British colonial rule.The bridge was named Lady Manning Bridge in honour of the wife of William Manning, the British Governor of Ceylon.It was the oldest and longest iron bridge in Sri Lanka.On average 10,000 vehicles crossed the narrow, single lane bridge daily.Accidents on the bridge would lead to traffic problems in the area.

William Ault, who was the first Methodist missionary to Batticaloa, in 1814. His statue can be seen closer to the Batticaloa Gate.

Uppuveli is a gold sand coastal resort town of the Trincomalee District, Sri Lanka located in the suburb of Sambalativu, 6 km northwest of the city of Trincomalee. Nilaveli (Sinhala: නිලාවැලි) is a coastal resort town and suburb of the Trincomalee District, Sri Lanka located 16 km northwest of the city of Trincomalee.
