🐘 Yala National Park: the most popular and well known! Yala has the highest density of leopards in the world and chances of seeing lots of elephants are very high here. If you want to see lots of animals and don’t mind the crowds, then this is the one for you!
🐘 Wilpattu National Park: the largest national park in Sri Lanka! It is famous for its natural pools of water that give a real sense of wilderness to it. If you do mind the crowds, then this is the best option for you! It is very quiet and the best time to visit it is between Feb and Oct.
🐘 Udalawale National Park: with more than 500 elephants, this is the perfect place to spot them! It’s not as crowded as Yala and you can visit it all year round! Great option for elephant lovers 😍
🐘 Minneriya National Park: located in the dry zone, near Sigiriya, this is a good option if you don’t want to go too far just for a safari. Here you can see elephants and also lots of monkeys! But you can only visit between July and Sep as this is when the elephants flock there.
🐘 Other least known options are: Bundala, Kumana, and Wasgamuwa National Parks and Habarana Eco Park, which is the one we visited.
🤑 Budget Breakdown: in all of the options you can do Luxury, Medium Range or Budget safaris. At the bigger parks you can expect to pay something a minimum of 50-80 USD and for the smaller ones you can go for as little as 20 USD (keep in mind that it is cheaper but chances of seeing elephants are also lower!)

🐘 Os maiores parques nacionais são: Yala, Wilpattu, Udalawale e Minneriya. Neles as chances de ver elefantes é muito maior! Mas o preço também é mais salgadinho, começando em torno de 50 dólares.
🐘 Os parques menos conhecidos são: Bundala, Kumana e Wasgamuwa. E o Habarana Eco Park, que foi onde nós fomos! Nesses parques os preços são bem mais em conta, podendo custar apenas 20 dólares por pessoa, mas as chances de ver elefantes também é bem menor!
