When Axel was just three months old we set off for a three week trip through Sri Lanka.

These pictures are from our stop in Tangalle and it easily became one of our favorite stops on our trip! It was just a magical place, between the landscape, the food and the people...actually that’s how all of Sri Lanka is - magical! Have you been? @ Tangalle

Happy Mothers Day Mom. As I sit here pregnant thinking back on why this holiday means so much to me I cant help but get all teary eyed. Growing up and watching you take care of me, of us, you showed me what it's like to be a mom. You taught me how to be nurturing, somewhat patient and tolerant, all things I would really struggle with today as a mom of soon to be 2 boys. Thank you. Its days like today that force us all to reflect on those women who have touched us and make them feel appreciated.

So to those who take care of kids as if they are their own, to the women who have a fur baby, or two or three, to the women who are yearning to be mothers, and to those who have chosen not to be mothers, to the people who have lost their mothers or never knew them and to the women who are excited to becomes mothers for the first time...Cheers to you 😍 @ Firenze, Italy

This is what Amsterdam looks like on a Saturday at 2:00PM during the lockdown.

The streets should be full of tourists dodging the locals on bicycles, the canals should have a steady stream of boats with day drinkers sipping on rose and cafes should be overflowing with people.

But instead it's quiet, the water is still and long gone are the groups of tourists. It's a strange sight for sure, but somehow through all this, we're getting reacquainted with our home. We're appreciating our city in a way we've never been able to, and will hopefully never have the chance to again...and it helps to have a beautiful place to look at, when we need a break from being with a two year old, all day, everyday😤🙄

Hi!!
Surprise we're pregnant! Yup, baby boy #2 is coming in June. It feels so good to tell you all :)

First off, so sorry for being MIA for so long and not saying a thing. We decided to take a little break after the holidays, just to enjoy being a family of 3 and to get things settled....and well then the world changed a bit, and now here we are 4 months later...haha i can't believe we've been off insta for 4 months...but I've still be stalking my favorite profiels and following everyone along :)

So how is everyone? Really truly how are you? We've all missed you and wow I've missed talking travel and just chatting with you all! But I'm back and feeling somewhat refreshed from our online detox. Not much has changed from our front, we moved (yes we're still in Amsterdam), we've been adjusting to staying home and are trying to get things ready for Axels little brother :)

Im not sure what this all means for NoDestinations, but for now I'm not worried about it. I still want to post travel pics and our stories - because right now, I need a bit of a reminder of just how beautiful and amazing our world is. We're still positing tons of beautiful hotel content on Tasteinhotels and frankly I'm enjoying going through our backlog of photos - so you can definitely expect to see some of our past adventures!

Has Spring arrived where you live? Being in Amsterdam, we feel really lucky that we’re able to visit these world famous flower fields as they are only a 30 minute drive from the city center. ..
A big thank you to our friends for grabbing this photo us our little family. @ Amsterdam, Netherlands

“Don’t tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you traveled.” ..
One of the things we love most about travel is how it gives us opportunities to experience other cultures, lifestyles, and perspectives. Without a doubt, travel is more valuable than any education found in books or school — And it’s one of the reasons why we love taking along with us on our adventures around the world — we want him to learn first hand to have respect and empathy for all people. ..
So we were excited that one of the first places we took him was the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Not only is it incredibly beautiful, but we love the fact that the Mosque is open to anyone who’d like to visit. Even if you’re not a Muslim you are welcome to enter, look around, take pictures, and simply enjoy this splendid building. And everyone that we encountered there was very friendly and welcoming to us. In fact, on one visit to we had questions about some scripts we saw on a wall inside the main prayer hall and asked an attendant, and he happily spent 10 minutes with us explaining the scripts and talking about the building. It was a very rewarding experience...
If you are visiting Abu Dhabi, you absolutely must visit. However, be sure to follow a few common sense rules; both men and women should dress conservatively, eg, long pants and shirts, and additionally women must have their heads covered. Should you arrive without the proper attire, you can still enter, though you will be asked to wear an abaya, which is provided free of charge. It’s also considered impolite to kiss or hug inside the mosque — so don’t do that. Finally, while the mosque is open to all, it is closed to non-muslims during prayer hours — so be sure to check before visiting! @ Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
