මිහින්තලේ බටහිර බෑවුම් පාමුල පිහිටා ඇති එය පොකුණු අතරින් විශාලතම පොකුණ වේ. බොහෝ විද්වතුන් විශ්වාස කරන්නේ කළුදිය පොකුණ යනු IV වන මහින්දගේ පුවරු වල සඳහන් වන පුරාණ පොරෝදිනි පොකුණ විය හැකි බවයි. කළු දිය පොකුණ, වචනාර්ථයෙන් පරිවර්තනය කර ඇත්තේ කළු ජල තටාකය යන්නයි.

මීට වසර 2500 කට පමණ පෙර ඉදිකරන ලද, බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ දේශනාවන්ට අනුව, රුවන්වැලි සෑය නොහොත් රන් දූවිලි චෛත්‍යය, පැරණි ලෝකයේ විශාලතම ව්‍යුහයන්ගෙන් එකකි, මීටර් 290 ක වට ප්‍රමාණයකින් යුත් මීටර් 103 ක් උස මෙම සෑරදුන් අනුරාධපුරයේ වැඩසිටී.

Built around 2500 years ago, according to the teachings of the Lord Buddha, the Ruwanveli Saya or Golden Dust Pagoda is one of the largest structures in the ancient world, standing 103 meters high with a circumference of 290 meters and standing in Anuradhapura.

මෙය රිටිගල - බෞද්ධ ආරාමිකයන්ගේ පුරාණ පසුබැසීමකි - එහිදී ක්‍රි.පූ පළමු සියවසේ ආරාමයක නටබුන් ගස් පිටුපසින් සහ රිටිගල වනාන්තරයේ ඝන යටි පඳුරු පිටුපසින් වැසී ඇත. එහි උස සහ දේශීය කාලගුණ රටා අවට තැනිතලාවේ සිට ක්ෂුද්‍ර දේශගුණික වෙනසක් ඇති කරයි.

This is Ritigala– an ancient retreat of Buddhist hermits – where the ruins of a first-century BC monastery are veiled behind trees and the thick undergrowth of the jungles of Ritigala. Its height and the local weather patterns create a microclimate difference from that of the surrounding plains.
