تقع خاو ياي الحديقة الوطنية في الجزء الغربي من سلسلة الجبال على الحدود الجنوبيه الغربيه واعلى جبل فى المنطقة يبلغ ارتفاعه 300 مترا.
الحديقة هي أكبر ثالث حديقة في تايلاند ,تغطي مساحة 300 كيلومترا مربعا، وتحتوئ على الغابات دائمة الخضرة والمراعي , يتراوح ارتفاعها في الغالب 400-1000 متر فوق مستوى سطح البحر. هناك 3000 نوع من النباتات و 320 نوعا من الطيور و 66 نوعا من الثدييات،وتشمل الحديقة الشلالات وارتفاعها يصل الى 80 متر متل هيو ناروك و هيو سوات، وتعتبى هيو سوات الشهيرة حيت اشتهرت من فيلم دا بيتش.
Khao Yai National Park is situated in the western part of the Sankamphaeng Mountain Range, at the southwestern boundary of the Khorat Plateau. The highest mountain in the area of the park is 300 m high Khao Rom.
The park is the third largest in Thailand. It covers an area of 300 square kilometers, including evergreen forests and grasslands. Its altitude mostly ranges from 400 to 1000 m above sea level. There are 3,000 species of plants, 320 species of birds like red junglefowl and Coral-billed Ground-cuckoo and 66 species of mammals, including Asiatic black bear, Asian elephant, gaur, gibbon, Indian sambar deer, pig-tailed macaque, Indian muntjac, dhole, and wild pig. Its waterfalls include the 80 metre Heo Narok and Heo Suwat, and the Heo Suwat made famous from film The Beach.
