He estado recorriendo Agafay y me sorprendió: no es Sahara, y tampoco lo pretende. Es roca, luz mineral y silencio que recalibra. Aquí el lujo es espacio —piscinas turquesa contra paisaje galleta, kasbahs que pasan de lo efímero a lo permanente y experiencias que se sienten a 30 km de Marrakech.

Each year in Morocco, we change the hour — but we do it with purpose.

During Ramadan, we return to GMT. We “earn” one hour, so to say. It is not a technical correction; it is a conscious alignment of time with the rhythm of a sacred month.

Practically, this means that during fasting, the rupture of the fast will be announced one hour earlier by the clock. In Marrakech, you will hear the traditional Ramadan cannon (Midfaʿ al-Iftar), followed by the call of the imam to prayer — timeless signals marking the end of the day’s abstinence and the beginning of ftour.

For those of us in hospitality and travel, this is never a minor detail. It affects transfers, service timing, staff rotations and guest communication.

Morocco does not change time randomly.
It aligns time with life.
