It's not a slow car, it's a fast house

Many of you are aware that our campervan was broken into in Spain. We were ransacked and thousands of dollars worth of personal items were taken.

But thankfully (?) they did not damage the van (besides the broken window). Although we believe they tried to steal it, but couldn’t thanks to the column shift and cutch! 🤣

Yet, on the same day we were robbed in Europe, our former home and truck camper in Chile was stolen from storage! We send condolences and strength to the new owner. Powerful hopes for a safe recovery go out to on the other side of the globe. 🌍

The world works in strange ways sometimes! After a lifetime of safe travel, and 12 years of safety on the road full time, these two incidents are just bizarre timing.

Thanks to all who reached out with love and support. We are on the road and recovering ❤️‍🩹. We are safe, secure and loved. 🥰

We needed to stop for the night so we found a small dirt road, followed it through some rocky fields and parked alongside a small orange grove.
Within minutes a couple approached us and communicated through gestures and smiles, that we could not stay there. Not because it was unsafe or illegal, but simply because they wanted to host us at their small home.
The next morning we met the sheep, chickens, fishpond and were invited in for a farm breakfast inside their traditional cinder block and adobe home.
We were given a contact number and invited back anytime. Kindness transcends all cultures, religions and languages.
Thank you, Zahara and Mustafa- you may never know how deeply you warmed our hearts that day!

Christmas morning in Morocco 🇲🇦 We splurged on a fully catered, home delivery traditional Morocco breakfast. The woman showed up with market-fresh ingredients and did the final prep and service on site. 🍽️ The spread was delicious and a fun way to celebrate.

We are house and dog sitting in Marrakech. A great chance to do laundry, be a city dweller, see dentists and dermatologists and catch up on Netflix in a city that is bustling with AFCON visitors. ⚽️
