In southwestern Morocco, especially near Essaouira and Agadir, the landscape is dotted with the iconic Argania spinosa — the legendary argan tree. Known for producing precious argan oil, often called “liquid gold,” these trees are not only vital to Morocco’s economy but also to its wildlife. One of the most fascinating sights is the local goats climbing high into the branches to eat the fruit. Agile and perfectly adapted to the dry climate, they balance effortlessly among the limbs, turning the trees into living ladders. This unique relationship between argan trees and goats has become a symbol of Morocco’s natural beauty — where tradition, survival, and wonder meet in the most unexpected way.
