Where all the magic happens! And, by magic, I mean approx. 5 thousand coke zero’s have been consumed (not literally, but I don’t drink coffee so this is my caffeine - don’t judge!😂) hundreds of ideas have been brainstormed and sent back to the drawing board, a few tears of frustration have been shed… let’s be real. But even more laughs have been had. Yep, this is me aka Rumours World HQ, in all its glory!

I’m actually in one of my most favourite riads in Marrakech working on my lappy pool side. And this is one of my most favourite things about working remotely - exactly that - I can work from anywhere!

Being in different spaces, landscapes and even countries a million percent helps me keep the creativity and momentum flowing! Sometimes even too much… hence the aforementioned “hundreds of ideas” 😂 But right now something VERY exciting is forming and I cannot wait to be ready to share it with you!

Is there anything more vital than this transparent, sparkling liquid that laps our sandy beaches, soaks our hair and refreshes our bodies? There’s no life without water, and for me it’s an (almost always!) vital part of travel too!

How many amazing looking reels and videos do you see everyday showing montages of dream-best-life-travel-epicness do you see in your feed everyday?! Yeah a lot right.

We love them too, hell I post them myself! But this is your little reminder that these are the highlight reels. Literally.

Solo travel can be tough, lonely, scary, anxiety-inducing and sometimes even just plain old dull. That’s the realness. I wanted to just normalise the s**t side of it, the realness too, not to discourage anyone from doing it, but to make sure you know you’re not doing it wrong, you’re not alone and you’re not being “too sensitive”.

Here’s a few things that have happened to me that were less than ideal on solo trips…

👎🏼 Had my purse stolen in Thailand
👎🏼 Got ripped off by a taxi on day 1 in Mexico
👎🏼 Broke my laptop in Sri Lanka
👎🏼 Got followed home in London
👎🏼 Had my hotel cancelled on the day in Rome

… but honestly - every single one of these mishaps and f**k ups taught me something, made me embrace my own strength and resilience, and proved how capable I was. And none of them have ever put me off booking that next solo trip!!

Memories weave the most magical, colourful and messy carpet of images, emotions and connections to lie on forever. ✨

I don’t know about you but snapping those moments can truly help me hold on to those memories more vividly! I LOVE scrolling through my phone and looking at all the photos that I never even posted anywhere, they’re just there for me, to jog my memory, to remind me of that special day, to make me laugh at that moment that happened…

Do you journal when you travel?! I’m not gonna lie, I’m not a natural ‘journaller’ (definitely a word haha) but on a solo trip to Sri Lanka that all changed!

I dipped my toe in gently, firstly just jotting down key moments or places from that day before bed, so I wouldn’t forget everything I’d done.

And then I’m not sure happened but my journalling went up a notch, I found myself not just writing lists but elaborating, talking about how a place made me feel, or what I learned, or something I could take with me. So I wouldn’t forget the feeling of a place too.

Now I’m a full on travel journal addict! I take a notebook with me everywhere I go, and usually an envelope to keep little treasures or ticket stubs, and even a little waterproof pouch for Polaroids and postcards!!

In our minds, badass = courageous. And while that can look very different for all of us, I think we'll all agree that travel is 100% something that can bring that out of each one of us!

Courage uses our character for strength, having the willingness to face challenges and emotions and new adventures. We practice courage by stepping out of our comfort zone whenever possible... and I invite YOU to do the same!
