Ali Eljajaoui, locally known as the "Sahrawi", emerged as a hero in the gripping story of little Rayan's rescue, as he led the last and most complicated phase of the digging to save Rayan. Ali has been involved in digging wells using traditional manual methods for the last 20 years.

Social media platforms have seen a flood of praise for the man's valiant efforts. The man, who in his fifties, led the dangerous campaign to rescue the young boy. Manual digging has recently finished with crew looking extremely exhausted after a days-long operation to free the child.

The US’ National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has published a map of Morocco with the Sahara clearly labeled as Moroccan.

The map was published as part of a release from NASA’s Earth Observatory detailing a dust storm over the Canary Islands.

The map, which clearly labels the Western Sahara region as part of Morocco, is available on NASA’s website.

The picture was also shared by other institutions, including the American embassy in Spain.

Since the US recognized formally Morocco's sovereignty over the Southern regions, various American and international organizations have adopted full maps of Morocco that include Sahara and label it as Moroccan.
