With Maltese limestone it is important to know how it reacts and not to use chemicals that can harm the stone. With the proper technique it is possible to remove the majority of the black from walls, houses, walkways and sculpture without damaging the surface of the stone too much. The sun will then be able to get at the base of the stain and dry out the surface even more over time.
