The journey to Cape Town may be over, but we’ll make the best of the journey home.

The trip is cancelled. Ben has been told he will lose his job if he enters Iraq or Syria, so we cannot continue in the timeframe we have.

What was going to be our greatest achievement, is now our biggest failure.

We’ll try again, but we don’t know when. Thanks for following us this far and for helping us raise nearly £1000 for Cool Earth.

Pitstop in Istanbul 🇹🇷

We’ve spent a day making Kelly the Camper ready for the Sahara. She’s got a new intercooler, an extra radiator and some huge fans.

We also had to fit our spare front propshaft thanks to a faulty input bearing on our transfer box.

Thanks to and Huzoff for the help! Fingers crossed we’ve solved our overheating problems 🤞

We’re on the road again!

After an eventful few days in Hungary, we have replaced the head gasket and the engine is running again! We’re now back on our way to Cape Town.

Massive thanks to and Zoltan for their help and hospitality, we couldn’t have done it without them.

London To Cape Town: Day 2

We have made it to Hungary, but our overheating issues have got a lot worse. The head gasket is blown, so we’re stuck here looking for parts. We’ll keep you all updated!
