Active members of the Smile Mongolia Hiking Club for years, they are a great link with the adventures we organize today. Batjargal and Lkhagvaa are the first people you meet driving West.
They are with their two adults children a beautiful family of hard-working and dedicated people from Kharkhorin city, the former Capital under the Mongolian Empire. Also, hosts of the guesthouse we use as a first accommodation before reaching the remote lands. They together represent the warmth of the Mongolian family in a local town.
Their attention to detail and the excellent food they provide is unique here. Lkhagvaa grows vegetables and prepares some of the most gorgeous and tastiest meals you can get, while Batjaa can accompany some of our trips to the countryside, being a very experienced driver. Together they own a supermarket in town which provides some of our resources when we travel.
They have a unique perspective on Mongolian life since they both work in a city environment and travel frequently to the countryside, are great hikers and meditation practitioners too. It is always a pleasure to visit them, enjoy a meal together and share the local news. They are very curious about our travelers coming from afar and will share their own experiences around the ancient capital city of Genghis Khan.
From their home, we start our first visits to the ancient city, its museum, the Erdene Zuu Monastery, and depart to our Meditation Camp at the Yak Valley, in the Arkhangai Province. They truly are the stable platform for the departures and arrivals of all adventures.
