🚄 Japan's Floating Train: Tokyo → Osaka in 67 Minutes!
Japan is building the Chuo Shinkansen Maglev, a train that doesn't roll on wheels at high speed. Powerful superconducting magnets lift it about 10 cm above the guideway, and it glides like it's flying! 🧲✨
⏱️ Tokyo → Osaka today: about 2h 20min on the Nozomi Shinkansen
🚀 With the maglev: just 67 minutes!
😮 Fun facts:
🏆 In 2015 it hit 603 km/h with people on board, still the world speed record for a passenger train.
🛫 It only lifts off once it reaches about 150 km/h, just like an airplane taking off.
🚇 Most of the Tokyo–Nagoya route runs through tunnels, deep under the mountains.
⏳ Tokyo–Nagoya (40 min) is expected to open in 2036 at the earliest, with Osaka coming after that.
So… would you be brave enough to ride it? 🙋♀️
Or are you happy with the classic Shinkansen?
