This is Sian Ka'an, one of Mexico's most protected biosphere reserves, and we ride straight through it. The Boca Paila bridge is one of those spots that stops you mid-route — turquoise water as far as you can see, jungle on both sides, and nothing but the sound of seven BMW R 1300 GS engines echoing over the lagoon.
