Ok guys, time for the Chicago day one recap…and yes, I know it’s day three. I’m doing my best. 😂✈️🏙️
I genuinely cannot remember the last time I had a direct flight anywhere. Usually travel day is such a pain in the ass that I don’t even count it as day one. So landing in Chicago before 9 a.m. felt downright luxurious. Is this how the other half lives?
Even better, our room at LondonHouse was already ready when we arrived around 10, which never happens! We dropped off our stuff and immediately headed to the rooftop for a couple of apps and our first drinks with a view.
Then we wandered over to The Dearborn, where I tried tavern-style pizza for the first time. Apparently, this is the pizza Chicagoans actually prefer, not the deep dish the rest of us associate with the city. And honestly? I get it. Don’t come for me, deep-dish people. I’m just telling you what I heard. 😂🍕
After a little exploring, some more drinks, and a much-needed hotel recharge, we headed to Il Porcellino for dinner. I had the best lasagna I’ve ever had in my life. Period. I would go back just for that lasagna, and I’m not even being dramatic for once. 🤌🏻🍝
A direct flight, an early check-in, rooftop drinks, Chicago pizza, and life-changing lasagna. Not too shabby for day one.
