One of my photographs is being displayed by a Mexico City civic organization that promotes better understanding between the people of the United States and Mexico. The photograph was made in Rabun County, Georgia, and portrays immigrant farmworkers planting tomato seedlings. These plump red fruits will be heralded as locally-grown, fresh, flavorful and second to none. The pride of Georgia. They will find their way to tables across the state to be relished by many people who are virulently anti-immigration. Planted by immigrant hands, harvested by immigrant hands, stocked on shelves by immigrant hands. Irony abounds. The message of There is No Wall: Somos el resultado de fusiones culturales (we are the result of cultural fusions).

Somos el resultado de fusiones culturales.

Jdoughall.com lo expone en esta fotografía documental de la serien Paisajes Rurales de mi Georgia Nativa.

Beautiful lunch at Restaurante El Tajín, authentic Veracruzan landmark in Coyoacan, and wonderful conversation with chef Ana María González. These tacos were stuffed with Mexican greens (quelites), ricotta cheese, and mushrooms. Some three decades ago I took cooking classes with the founder of El Tajín Alicia Gironella D'Angeli jdoughall.com/mexican-food/
