Looking for a gay hotel in Puerto Vallarta that’s social but still feels like an escape? Casa Cupula is one of the city’s longtime favorites.

Set in the lush hills of Amapas above Zona Romántica, this adults-only, clothing-optional boutique hotel combines a quieter setting with easy access to Puerto Vallarta’s gay beaches, bars, restaurants and nightlife. One of the biggest draws is the pool scene—relaxed when you want it to be, but with gay pool parties and social events that make it easy to meet other travelers.

You’ll also find spacious rooms, spa services, onsite dining and an infinity pool with beautiful views. It’s a good option if you want the social side of gay Puerto Vallarta without staying directly in the middle of the busiest part of Zona Romántica.

☕ Mexico City Café Find: One of My Favorite Breakfast Spots — Café Nin

There are certain places in Mexico City I’m always happy to return to, and Café Nin in Juárez is one of them. It’s a great spot for a leisurely breakfast, with a beautiful setting, excellent coffee and some seriously tempting pastries.

It’s from the same team behind Panadería Rosetta, so the baked goods are a big part of the attraction. I also love the location—it’s an easy place to work into a morning exploring Juárez, Roma Norte or nearby Reforma.

🇲🇽 One Thing I Love About Guadalajara: There’s Always Somewhere New to Discover

Even after living in Guadalajara for a while, I’m still finding places I somehow missed. One of my recent discoveries was the Casa de las Artesanías de Jalisco, next to Parque Agua Azul.

It’s a great place to explore traditional Jalisco crafts and see just how much incredible work is being produced by artisans around the state. Places like this are one of the reasons I still love wandering around Guadalajara without much of a plan.

🇲🇽 Destination Spotlight: Tepoztlán — A First-Timer’s Guide

Looking for an easy escape from Mexico City? Tepoztlán is one of my favorites. This Pueblo Mágico in the mountains of Morelos combines dramatic scenery, ancient history, colorful markets and a slightly mystical, bohemian vibe.

For a first visit, I’d wander the historic center and Mercado de Tepoztlán, try an itacate, and, if you’re up for the climb, hike Cerro del Tepozteco for the views. I’d also make time for TepozSpa, a gay men’s spa and retreat that’s one of the reasons Tepoztlán has become particularly popular with LGBTQ+ visitors.

🏳️‍🌈 Tepoztlán isn’t about a huge gay nightlife scene. For me, its appeal is slowing down, enjoying the mountains, eating well, spending some time at TepozSpa and soaking up the atmosphere. And at roughly 1½–2 hours from Mexico City, it makes a great weekend addition to a CDMX trip.

🍽️ Oaxaca Food Discovery: A Meal I Still Remember — Las Danzantes ()

Some meals stick with you long after the trip, and Las Danzantes in Oaxaca is one of those for me.

I still remember the shrimp tlayudas, but the setting was almost as memorable as the food. The restaurant has a stunning open-air space that feels unmistakably Oaxaca, and the cocktails were fantastic.

Oaxaca has no shortage of incredible places to eat, but this is one meal I still think about. 🍤🍹
