✹ Every family deserves a village. Every child deserves an adventure. 💛

Five and a half years ago, my son and I packed our lives into a few suitcases and began worldschooling.

I’ve done this journey as a single mom, and I know firsthand how much courage and financial creativity it can take to say yes to experiences like these.

Sometimes it isn’t the dream that stops us.

It’s wondering if we can actually make it work.

That’s one of the reasons I created Wild Roots.

Because I believe every family deserves the chance to experience the magic of travel, meaningful friendships, and learning through the world around them.

Today, I’m so excited to open applications for our very first Wild Roots Family Adventure Scholarship.

🌿 One family will be awarded a scholarship to join us for a Wild Roots Family Pop-Up in Mexico City (a $300 USD value).

Choose from:
đŸ‡ČđŸ‡œ August 10–14
đŸ‡ČđŸ‡œ August 17–21
🍂 November 23–29

Our Pop-Ups aren’t just about exploring a new city.

They’re about finding your village.

Watching your children build friendships with kids from around the world.

Sharing meals, conversations, and adventures with families who believe some of life’s greatest lessons happen outside the classroom.

If you’ve been dreaming about worldschooling

If you’ve been craving community

If you’ve been waiting for a sign

I’d love to invite you to apply. 💛

Here’s how to enter:

✹ Comment below: Why would this scholarship make a meaningful difference for your family?

✹ Tag a family you’d love to explore the world with. Each additional family tagged earns you one extra entry, up to five total.

📅 Applications close July 24 and I’ll personally read every story before announcing the scholarship recipient.

Whether you’re selected or not, I hope this reminds you that you don’t have to explore the world alone. The right community can change everything. 🌿

💛 DM “SCHOLARSHIP” and my ManyChat assistant will send you the application link instantly.

Our favorite classroom doesn’t have four walls
 🌼

We’ve spent the last five years living in Mexico, and when we’re not homeschooling, Isaiah attends primarily Spanish-speaking schools.

So whenever we travel to another Spanish-speaking country, one thing stays the same

He’s in charge of ordering our food.

He reads the menu.
Asks the questions.
Talks with the waiter.

Sometimes he gets every word right.
Sometimes we laugh our way through it. 😅

But that’s never been the point.

The point is learning to be curious.
To connect.
To have the confidence to speak, even when you’re not sure.

For me, that’s what worldschooling is.

Not adding more lessons to the day

But letting everyday moments become the lesson. 🌿

👉 What’s one simple tradition your family has that teaches something no textbook ever could?

The most dangerous thing isn’t the tree
 🌳

It’s raising a generation that never discovers what they’re capable of.

Every camp, I watch children climb trees, balance on rocks, use real knives to prepare food, and navigate uneven ground.

And yes
sometimes adults watching are more nervous than the kids. 😅

But here’s what I’ve witnessed over and over again.

Confidence isn’t built by hearing “Be careful.”

It’s built by being trusted.

Trusted to climb.
Trusted to make mistakes.
Trusted to find their footing.

A scraped knee heals.

A childhood spent believing the world is too dangerous to explore can leave a much deeper mark.

Our role isn’t to remove every challenge.

It’s to create spaces where children can stretch, stumble, get back up, and discover, “I can do hard things.” 🌿

If something in your heart whispered “YES” while reading this, come meet the families who feel the same.

We’re building a village where courage grows alongside community.

And if this isn’t your path, we genuinely wish you well on yours. There are many ways to raise children, and this is simply ours. đŸ€

Maybe you don’t need to try harder to fit in

There comes a moment when you realize you’re not craving another event, another playdate, or another busy weekend.

You’re craving people who feel like home.

The kind who celebrate your wins.
Who don’t mind the noise, the mess, or the little humans running barefoot through the grass. 😅

The kind of community where your children find friends

And somehow, you do too.

That’s the heart behind Wild Roots.

Not a perfect gathering.
A real one.

A place where connection happens naturally, conversations linger a little longer, and everyone leaves feeling a little more rooted. đŸ€

If you’ve been longing for a village, maybe this is your invitation.

Join us for the kind of break your kid will actually remember

- Aerial silks between the trees
- Climbing higher than they thought they could
- Hands busy making bracelets, minds finally slowing down

And the shift most parents don’t realize they need...
from screens and rushing to calm, grounded and fully alive

We keep it intentionally small so every child is seen, supported, and stretched in the right ways

This isn’t just any camp

It’s a reset 🌿

One of the unexpected things we’ve noticed at Wild Roots is that children become far more adventurous eaters when everyone is sharing the same experience.

Put a plate of dragon fruit, mango, and local tropical fruit in front of a group of kids and suddenly the child who “doesn’t eat that” is asking for seconds.

Healthy food doesn’t have to be complicated. Living in the tropics makes it easy to nourish growing bodies with fresh, colorful foods that come straight from the land around us.

That’s why lunch and snacks are included at Wild Roots. We want children to experience new foods, connect with local culture, and discover that eating well can actually be fun.

Even many of our picky eaters surprise their parents by trying things they would never touch at home.

Sometimes all it takes is sunshine, hungry bellies, and a table full of friends. đŸŒżđŸ„đŸ‰

This week looks like shark lessons, salty hair, sandy feet, aerial silks, and kids laughing until sunset 🌊

The kind of childhood that feels WILD and safe at the same time.

Meanwhile
parents answer a few emails, take calls by the beach, sip coffee slowly, and remember life doesn’t have to feel so rushed. ✹

June 8–12 in Playa del Carmen.
Flights are surprisingly affordable right now
and these are the memories kids carry forever.

A little village.
A little freedom.
A little magic. 🐇

👉 Don’t miss out.
