Visiting Picaflor House in Peru opened my eyes to how much we take for granted. The children’s joy over simple supplies and their worn-down playground showed me the power of play-and the urgent need for safe spaces to learn and grow. Inspired by Jim Elliott and Globalteer incredible work, we started Khelo to build playgrounds that keep kids motivated and in school. If you can, please consider supporting Khelo. We are excited to announce the completion of our 5th playground project at the Janaprabhat Ni Ma Vi School in Sindhuli, Nepal. Thanks to our partners for inviting us to join their efforts in the rebuild of the elementary school and playground after the 2015 earthquake devastated the area. We are proud to have 231 students (age 3-14) back in a safe and friendly learning environment.

We are excited to announce the completion of our latest playground project at the Mahayag School in the Philippines. Thanks to our partners for inviting us to join their efforts in the rebuild of the elementary school and playground after Typhoon Rai devastated the area.

Friends....our non-profit Khelo has been named a finalist for the Eagle Rare Life Award hosted by Garden & Gun Magazine. The finalist with the most votes by December 6th will capture the $50,000 award.

Celso Muñoz, Oaxaca Mexico 🇲🇽 Khelo is pleased to share our latest playground! Teaming up with we were able to donate funds for a safe, age appropriate play area serving students ages 6-12. The Celso Muñoz Primary School was just one of many that were affected in the 2017 earthquakes; where the area endured not one, but two devastating natural disasters within one week. With the school being condemned, the children were moved to a temporary learning center for more than a year. It is a great pleasure to know that the children will now have a chance to enjoy a new play structure where many friendships will be forged, memories made all against the soundtrack of laughter and giggles. @ Esc. We can all make a difference. Returning to normalcy after a disaster is an arduous road and education often suffers. Having a safe space for children to learn and play is critical. When we install a playground alongside a school it provides that extra space for kids to be kids. Today we'd like to thank for funding the playground at Celso Munoz, Oaxaca, Mexico. July 2019 - San Juan, Puerto Rico 🇨🇺 The Colegio Hogar Angeles Custodios Dedication. What was once just an open stretch of patchy grass is now a fully equipped playground for students in kindergarten through third grade to enjoy for many years to come. Colegio Hogar Ángeles Custodios is a school located in San Juan that consists of elementary, intermediate and higher level, which is dedicated to the development of students in the intellectual and spiritual aspect. @ Colegio Angeles Custodios

Welcome to Khelo. Our mission: To positively impact underserved neighborhoods by enabling children the opportunity to play, exercise, and flourish within their respective communities. 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎🌏🌍 Our story: While traveling abroad on family vacations founding partners would often make it a habit to visit local schools with their families. What started as an opportunity to expose their children to other cultures quickly led to the desire to give back. If schools can provide a safe and fun environment for their students the odds of students returning each day increases. With those increases in attendance comes greater interest in education. With greater interest in education comes the ability for those students to provide for themselves, their families, and the opportunity to become a contributing member of their community.
