PAINT day! One step closer to completely the renovation to the library in Pescadero. After 30 minutes in the heat, we each looked like we had just stepped out the shower. Baja in July is no joke, Momma nature is boss and we playing by her rules. Drink water, keep smiling, be humble and shine on.

And just like that our next group of volunteers arrive. Two volunteers drove from Aspen to Denver International airport this morning in time for their 8:55 am flight to Cabo! Going to bed early in preparation for our huge week of service and fun. Temperatures continue to rise... Mantra for the week, drink water, wear sunscreen.

Last night at turtle camp. Los Amigos de Baja volunteers patrolled the beaches for nests, relocated turtle eggs to safer locations and spent the night under the stars.

Los Amigos de Baja offers a program called LAB Leadership week. This program allows for four students to come to Todos Santos, Mexico to work on a unique community outreach project. In June we hosted four amazing LAB leaders. There project was to create a KickStarter campaign that would help fund start-ups costs for a recycling center in Todos Santos.

We are thrilled to announce that the KickStarter was launched TODAY! We have 32 days to raise $4,000 and thats where you come in. Please click on this link watch our video and to become a backer!

Our mission is to fund a for profit recycling center in Todos Santos, Mexico.

This album shows some of the many highlights from LAB volunteers recent adventure to Todos Santos, Mexico. Our volunteers worked on a library restoration project removing concrete in Baja summertime temps, painted Hogar AC roof top with water proof paint to protect from the upcoming rainy season, taught English at The Palapa Society, prepped a wall mural at The Palapa Society, donated all the books needed to launch a summer book club for local students, and donated gloves and jump ropes to the incredible Todos Santos, Box program. These volunteers are amazing, thank you for your sweat, muscles and bringing so many smiles to the community.

This summer Los Amigos de Baja hosted our first ever Leadership week. Our leadership program offers four students the opportunity to come to Todos Santos, Mexico to work on a specific community outreach project. This weeks LAB leaders dedicated themselves to creating a KickStarter campaign that will fund phase 1 for Todos Santos very own Recycling Center. Alex at Multiservicos Miró is the local hero driving the movement for environmental health in the area. Alex has had a long time dream of opening a recycling center, now with the land in place he needs the funding. This is where LAB leaders come in! This album shows our LAB leaders in action during their week with Los LosAmigos de Baja, as they explore Mexico and work with Alex to make their KickStarter movie.
