There are birds and then there are *birds*, and photos and then *photos*; yet some become part of your history—an important part of your life that you will remember forever. Such is the case with this beautiful species.
During the first expedition to Colombia, we were unable to spot it due to time and logistical constraints, and also because it simply refused to show itself.
On this second expedition, while spending more time at the beautiful Hacienda El Bosque, we were told that a new viewing spot had been located. However, the adventure wouldn't be easy: it required an early start and a trek along a path filled with mud, steep inclines and declines, rocks, small streams, and more. We were at an altitude of approximately 2,800 meters above sea level—a significant height for those of us coming from lowlands near sea level; walking there, you can feel your heart racing and your breathing becoming labored. Yet, it was all worth it. My friend Luis Guillermo and I decided to set out early with our guide, navigating all the aforementioned obstacles. We arrived at the site breathless and waited patiently, though we were pressed for time to rejoin the rest of our photography group. It was a long wait, and just as we were about to leave—thinking it wouldn't show itself—it finally appeared. Seeing this beautiful creature—so stunning, curious, and unique—made all the fatigue worthwhile. It brought a wonderful sense of satisfaction, akin to winning a World Cup; it was one of those moments you treasure for a lifetime.

A few days ago I had the pleasure to start an. Adventure of 3 days and a half with a friend I'd guide 5 years ago David Roche the first time also we. Had a really great time.

This time. Wasn't the exception we started this adventure with 33 objectives species
We started the adventure around Muyil with a good. Morning seeing the specialties of the site and. Finding the first 5 species then We. Continue to the south where the Agami Heron and Black Collared Hawk were the piece of the cake
The next morning we start near Belize with the local. Guide FranciscoJavier Garcia seeing very amazing species ad hearing another amazing ones like Spotted Wood Quail and Greater Tinamou to start a very long drive to meet. My friend Ruben Chable he showed us a baby of Northern Potoo where we continue to Xocén to finish a very long day with night birds
Next morning we birded with local guide Angel castillo at Xocen Birding Trail looking for. More specialities and continue to Rio Lagartos with great guide and captain William Ramon Cruz Canto to continue searching for the wish birds to take a break and finish this adventure

We finished registering 186 species. We're. Many of them were new birds for. The year, had. The chance to. Record 2 great species. See. Some. Birds I haven't. Seen for. Many years and share amazing time. With my friend

We found 31 of 33 objective species
The other 2 were. Heard only
This adventure wasn't be possible. Without the help. Of all. The local guides.
