46th PERAK INDIAN BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP

The 46th Perak Indian Badminton Championship, held from 30 May to 1 June 2025, concluded successfully with the participation of 730 players from across Malaysia. Organised by the Perak Indian Badminton Association (PIBA), this long-standing championship has grown into a prestigious event with a legacy of over four decades in grassroots badminton development.

A total of 29 categories were contested, covering age groups from as young as 10 years old to veteran players aged 70 and above. Categories included U10, U12, U15, U18, and veteran divisions such as Women Veteran (35+), Junior Veteran (40+), Senior Veteran (50+), Super Senior (60+), and Legend Veteran (70+).

The tournament attracted players from Perak as well as Johor, Penang, Pahang, Kuala Lumpur, Kedah, and Selangor. More than just a competition, it served as a platform to identify new talents, promote lifelong involvement in sports, and foster community unity across generations.

The event was officiated by YB Jenny Choy Tsi Jen, Deputy Speaker of the Perak State Legislative Assembly and State Assemblywoman for Canning.

Also in attendance were:
-Mr. Mohd Sharil Bin Tahir, Sports Development Officer, representing the Perak State Youth and Sports Department
-Mr. N. Loganathan, President of PIBA

This championship was proudly supported under the KBS Sports Matching Grant, further strengthening its commitment to grassroots sports excellence.
