“This is Sabah, Malaysia - Not Sulu”

The city authority of Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia announced a large-scale operation to clear and demolish illegal structures in the Sembulan area in the heart of Kota Kinabalu. The action targets buildings constructed without approval, unsafe or deteriorating housing, and structures with expired occupancy rights.

Officials said inspections found overcrowded and unregulated settlements that violate local laws and pose serious safety and hygiene concerns. The area has also been flagged as a dengue hotspot, raising public health risks.

The census also recorded that there are 159 non-citizen household heads living in the area, the majority of whom hold invalid travel documents. Local residents have also raised concerns over safety and cleanliness.

The operation is part of a broader urban renewal effort aimed at improving living conditions, public safety, and city planning. Before enforcement began, authorities conducted surveys, issued notices, and allowed time for residents to vacate voluntarily.

The process will be carried out in stages with support from multiple government agencies, including law enforcement and immigration. Officials have warned that strict action will be taken against non-compliance and have called for cooperation to ensure a smooth and orderly process.

🚨 REAL STORY DISEBALIK KES KERETA ARUZ DISERANG DI JESSELTON QUAY, KOTA KINABALU, SABAH

Story Behind Mob Attack On A Teacher’s Car In A Broad Daylight Near Jesselton Quay, Sabah

A teacher driving a Perodua Aruz was attacked by a group of men and injured, allegedly because he had “bumped” into a car while reversing and fled the scene. He was then chased by several men on motorcycles and assaulted in public near Jesselton Quay, Kota Kinabalu, causing severe damage to the Aruz and injuring the teacher.

However, based on investigations and witness accounts, the incident began at a location near a warehouse close to SICC, where the teacher had parked his car while attending a Hari Raya open house with his mother, father, and younger brother.

The initial conflict started from a sarcastic remark.

A staff member near the warehouse mockingly said to the teacher, “Wow, nice to get free food but park here,” after seeing him carrying Penang laksa that he had packed after the open house at SICC. Before reversing, the teacher responded, “Don’t be so rude, if parking isn’t allowed here then put up a notice,” which led a group of men to approach the car from the front, with one of them kicking the vehicle.

Panicking, the teacher reversed and accidentally bumped into a staff member’s vehicle, causing minor damage.

The victim’s vehicle (the Perodua Aruz) hit the staff car while reversing as the group began to crowd in front of him, with one man kicking the car out of dissatisfaction and threatening him to get out. The Aruz then managed to escape from the situation.

When he reached the traffic lights near Jesselton Quay, a group of men on motorcycles chased him and violently attacked the vehicle, smashing two rear lights, the driver’s window, and causing injuries to the teacher’s hands and head.

After sustaining these injuries and fearing being dragged out of the car by the attackers, the teacher—who suffers from panic disorder—sped off, crashing into a Proton S70 and a van in order to escape from the traffic light area and drove straight to the Karamunsing Police Station for safety.

While the teacher was being attacked and fleeing, his parents were still at SICC waiting to be picked up, as they were waiting for him to retrieve the car.

The victim, who is a Bumiputera native of Sabah, suffered trauma and injuries to his head, neck and hands due to fragments of the driver's window glass that broke after being hit by a motorbike helmet.

Five men have been arrested in connection with the incident. The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief and Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.

🚨 Car Attacked by Group of Young ‘Gangsters’ in Broad Daylight in Kota Kinabalu

Based on witness accounts at the scene, a car was chased by several men riding motorcycles, believed to be employees of a courier company in Kota Kinabalu. The group acted aggressively, attacking the vehicle and damaging it using helmets as seen in the viral videos, causing the car windows to shatter, the lights to break, and the driver to sustain injuries. The car later escaped for self-defence and went to the nearest police station for safety.

According to police reports and witnesses, the incident began due to a dispute over a parking space, which escalated into an exchange of sarcastic remarks. The victim was mocked for parking near a courier company area in Kota Kinabalu, close to the Sabah port. When the victim responded, the group became dissatisfied and turned violent, attempting to force the victim out of the car. In panic, the victim sped away to escape the situation.

When the victim’s car stopped at a red light near the traffic junction in the Jeselton Quay area, the group on motorcycles caught up and attacked again. They smashed the car’s lights and windows, repeatedly striking them until they shattered. Shattered glass struck the victim’s head, causing injuries.

The victim, who has a diagnosed panic disorder, managed to escape the assault and drove to a police station for safety, although several vehicles were reportedly damaged during the incident.

The victim has since lodged a report at the Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters (IPD) and received medical treatment. The suspects involved have been remanded.

This incident raises serious concerns about the level of public safety in Kota Kinabalu.
