Below is the the original content of the email sent to all students to their student email account by CCU:

Dear MMU Colleague,

With a heavy heart, we announce that MMU's President, Professor Dato' Dr. Muhamad Rasat Muhamad, has passed away.

Shortly before his passing this very afternoon at the University Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM), Prof. Rasat experienced shortness of breath.

Funeral prayers will be conducted immediately after Maghrib prayers, which is at 7:03 P.M., at the Tun Abdul Aziz Mosque (Masjid Bulat) Section 14, Jalan Semangat, Petaling Jaya. The funeral itself will be conducted tonight at the Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetary (Tanah Perkuburan Islam Bukit Kiara)

For staff in Cyberjaya who wish to visit, a bus will depart from the Chancellery at 6 P.M.

Please join us in offering our prayers for Allahyarham Prof. Rasat. Al-Fatihah.
