A good outing today, the 1st day of the 10-day bird photography trip. My cleint got most of the highland birds.

This Crimson-headed partridge really tested our patience. It took us almost 5 hours waiting patiently for the bird to finally come out.

Sugud Forest Reserve offers beautiful scenery with trees surrounding the area. Walking alongside the road early in the morning gives a chance to observe a variety of lowland birds. One can observe raptor high in the sky flying past the ridge, bulbuls, white-eye, nuthatch and others.

Just about 1 hour walk down the hill, there is a waterfall where locals visit during holidays to spend the day.

Sugud Forest Reserve is one of the places one can spend searching for forest birds within the Greater Kota Kinabalu area. Just spend two hours walking along the road can produce some bird species to add to your bird list.
