Pendidikan alam sekitar bermula dari usia muda. Melalui pengalaman di lapangan, murid bukan sahaja mengenali alam, tetapi belajar menghargai dan melindungi khazanah semula jadi Sabah.

Penghargaan kepada 𝐒𝐊 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐮 kerana memilih Maliau Basin Conservation Area sebagai lokasi pendedahan murid kepada kekayaan biodiversiti hutan konservasi di Sabah. Semoga pengalaman ini menjadi kenangan bermakna dan menyemai rasa cinta serta tanggungjawab untuk melindungi alam untuk generasi akan datang.

Have you heard of Southeast Asia’s “Lost World”? 🌿🌏

Hidden deep within the rainforest of Sabah lies the remarkable Maliau Basin — a remote and pristine wilderness often referred to as Borneo’s “Lost World”. For generations, this mysterious landscape was known only to the indigenous Murut community until 1947, when a pilot flying overhead nearly collided with its dramatic, mist-covered cliffs. 🏞

Covering nearly the size of Singapore (588.4 km²), Maliau Basin is one of the world’s most diverse ecosystems, home to an extraordinary range of flora and fauna. The basin is a self-contained natural wonder, drained by a single river, the Maliau River, which winds through the valley before joining the Kinabatangan River, Sabah's largest and most significant waterway.

🦎🦧 For true adventurers, the basin offers unforgettable experiences — from jungle trekking and birdwatching to wildlife spotting in one of Borneo's most protected rainforests.
