🌟 White Morph of the Sabah Grey Langur Spotted in Maliau Basin!

Deep within the lush forests of Maliau Basin, our team encountered something truly special — a White Morph of the Sabah Grey Langur (Presbytis sabana), an interesting sighting and naturally occurring color variation of this Borneo-endemic primate. 🐒✨

🔍 Did You Know?

• The Sabah Grey Langur is found only in Borneo, making it one of the island’s unique wildlife treasures.
• The white morph is not caused by albinism or leucism — it’s a rare, natural variation of fur coloration.
• These langurs are usually elusive and shy, often moving in quiet groups high in the forest canopy.
• Sadly, they are classified as Endangered, mainly due to habitat loss.

🌿 This magical encounter highlights the importance of protecting areas like Maliau Basin, where "The Lost World of Borneo" continues to unfold in every branch and leaf.

Collaboration between Malaysian Nature Society Sabah Branch and Conservation & Environmental Management Division (CEMD), Yayasan Sabah 🐦🌿

We were delighted to receive the Malaysian Nature Society (Sabah Branch) for their first official visit to our office today. This marks the beginning of a promising collaboration and the upcoming signing of an MoU with CEMD, YS — centred on the establishment of an Avian Centre of Excellence at Maliau Basin.

Discussions focused on future activities and joint programmes to promote bird conservation, awareness, and appreciation of avian biodiversity. A meaningful step forward for nature education and protection!

🌟 Wildlife of the Month: Horsfield’s Tarsier (𝐶𝑒𝑝ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑎𝑐ℎ𝑢𝑠 𝑏𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑎𝑛𝑢𝑠) 🌟

📍Maliau Basin Conservation Area

Say hello to one of the forest's most fascinating nocturnal inhabitants — the Horsfield’s Tarsier! With its oversized eyes adapted for night vision and strong leaping ability, this tiny primate is built for life in the dark rainforest canopy. 🌙🌿

A master of stealth and a specialist insect hunter, the tarsier is incredibly sensitive to habitat changes, making it a symbol of the pristine wilderness of Maliau Basin. This rare sighting reminds us of the vast amount that remains to be discovered and protected within Borneo’s “Lost World.”
