You need a visitor visa but you have no idea how to apply for it? Then this is for you! 👇🏾
Before the pandemic, you could apply online, with a paper application, or in person at a Visa Application Center (VAC). Right now, however, it is advised to only apply online! Processing times are taking much longer than usual so if you plan to travel in the next year, you want to apply early.
✈️ If you are travelling as a family, each family member, including dependent children, all applications must be completed separately. However, you may submit all of the applications together.
✈️ Afterwards, you have to pay the application fee and submit all required supporting documents, including giving biometrics.

While you wait you still need to be proactive! If a long time has passed, update the immigration department with any changes to your situation or travel plans.
Also, your Visitor Visa can be valid for up to 10 years, or one month before your passport expires, whichever is earlier. Don't forget to check the validity of your passport before applying to maximize the length of your visa. A Canadian visa will not be issued beyond the validity of your passport.
