Akpakpava street is a major road in Benin City.

Passengers and motorists heading to Ikpoba Hill from Ring road must follow this road.

Travellers to Eastern Nigeria and Northern Nigeria have to connect to Benin-Asaba Expressway and Benin- Auchi road respectively before heading to their destinations. Akpakpava street is the connecting road.

Akpakpava street is a major business hub as well.

All of these put together makes Akpakpava street a very busy and lively street.

Three main hotels exist on this road for visitors lodging.

Akpakpava road in Benin City plays host to highest number of banks in Benin City.

Virtually all the banks that operate in Benin City have their head office here.

If you call Akpakpava road the financial district of Benin City, you'll be right.

There are 15 banking halls spread along the entire stretch of Akpakpava road, representing 13 different banking institutions.

Here's the list, starting from Kings Square, popularly called Ring road.

1. Central Bank of Nigeria - It's right at the heart of Ring road. The very first bank on Akpakpava road.

2. Globus Bank - It's directly opposite Central Bank of Nigeria.

3. Wema Bank - It's immediately after Total Filling station. Or better still, less than 5 minutes walk from BEDC office.

4. Access Bank (1st office) - It's almost directly opposite Wema Bank.

5. Guarantee Trust Bank or GTO - It's located immediately after ogbesamwan junction.

6. Access Bank (2nd Office) - It's almost immediately next to GTO, on the same side (left).

7. Sterling Bank - It's almost directly opposite GTO, on the right side of the road.

8. First Bank of Nigeria - It's located opposite Agbado market.
9. Stanbic IBTC Bank - It's opposite Eguadase Road junction, after Agbado market, a walking distance apart.

10. Zenith Bank (1st Office) - It's less than 1 minute walk from Eguadase junction. It's on the right side of the road. Same side with Eguadase road.

11. United Bank for Africa (UBA) - Located about 1 minute walk from Zenith Bank, on the left side of the road. Sane side with IBTC Chartered Bank.

13. Union Bank of Nigeria - It's Opposite UBA.

14. Keystone Bank - You'll drive down a bit, after Dawson road junction or God is, Good Motors. It's located very close to 2nd junction, on the left side of the road.

15. Zenith Bank (2nd Office) - It's located down the road, as you descend the slope. It's located on the right side of the road. About 10 minutes walk from 3rd Junction.

Those are the banks along Akpakpava road.

Now, right at the heart of Ring road, there are two other banking halls.

1. First Bank of Nigeria - which is directly overlooking the big round about that houses National Musuem. It's situated between Akpakpava road and Forestry road, and facing the big roundabout.

2. Union Bank of Nigeria - I suppose this is their head office in Benin City. It's located also at the heart of Ring road, less than 2 minutes walk into Mission road.

Hiya!

It's been continuous rainfall in Benin city since after midday today.

This type of rain started last week.

It will rain non-stop for a stretch of 1,2,3 or more hours. Stop for few minutes and resume another stretch.

A day or two can pass with a sunny ☀️weather and scanty rain.

Then again, non-stop rain returns.

The rain isn't heavy. But it will continue non-stop for a stretch, sometimes for 3, 4, 5 or more hours.

At this time in Benin City, some roads can become flooded, some unpaved roads can become so muddy and un-motorable.

If you're driving make sure to watch. If the road is flooded, and you're unfamiliar with the road, wait ✋ and let another vehicle take the lead while you follow behind.
Some floods on some road hide terribly deep potholes.

The weather in Benin city is very cold at this time.

The city also isn't highly bustling, because of the rains.

Most people are indoors after work, enjoying moments with their family.

Going out, remember to arm yourself with an umbrella.

Use water resistant footwears.

Use thick clothing 👗👚👖 to ward off cold.

Don't leave your chest exposed in the colour that the breeze is cold and enjoyable.

Let me share with you a secret.

It's for your use in Benin City. But you may actually apply it anywhere else.

It's one of my secrets. And it has really helped me everywhere I go.

Try to build relationship with people.

When I encounter a great seller, whether the owner of the business themselves or a sales person, I don't just buy from such people, I try to build a relationship as well.

I interact with them with the hope of meeting them again and doing business with them (patronizing them again).

Sometimes I lose to them. It's part of the prize to pay for a relationship to grow.

Sometimes I gain.

I stick with such people. I'll buy elsewhere only if they don't have what I want.

Overtime, I realize I've built a solid relationship💏.

Even if they decide to cheat or lie to every other person, they'll find it hard to lie to me, or cheat me.

Same will happen to you if you apply the principle.

This applies in Benin City. It applies everywhere else.

Treat people generally with respect.

But when you find the very good ones, stick with them and build a relationship.

Good people are hard to find.

By the way, even so called "bad people, "
if you treat them nicely they'll become friends too.

They want to retaliate with equivalent kindness.

They may be bad to everyone else, but not you.

On a final note, Benin City people, generally speaking, are friendly.

If anyone behaves badly to you, it may be they first got treated badly.

A handful of persons are just odd though.
But with nice treatment, you reduce their oddness.
