HONORING PARENTS & ELDERS: A LIFELONG COMMAND.
The command to honorour parents and elders is not just a childhood duty—it's a lifelong command from God.

✨ Respect, love, and care aren’t just for kids. Adults, too, are called to honor by listening, respecting, and caring for their parents.

👧🏽 Obedience applies primarily to children, but honor is something we carry into adulthood.

📖 God’s commands come first. If asked to go against His Word, we must respectfully stand with God—just as Acts 5:29 reminds us: "We must obey God rather than men.”

🗣️ Disagreement doesn’t mean dishonor. Set loving boundaries, communicate respectfully, and always show kindness and patience.

📚 Biblical examples like Daniel, Peter, and Jesus show us how to balance respect for parents/elders with faithfulness to God.

Pray for wisdom, show daily honor, and seek godly counsel when needed to navigate challenging situations.
Let's always remember Ephesians 6:2-3 "Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth."

In summary, Honor your parents and elders with love and respect, but always put God first, trusting Him to guide you through difficult moments.

Friends, today let’s reflect on the incredible benefits of honouring God in our lives. When we choose to honour Him, we often see His goodness returning to us in surprising ways. 🙏✨

📌 God honours us with:
- His Presence: He walks alongside us, offering comfort and guidance.

- His Power: Through Him, we can overcome obstacles and challenges.

- His Favour: He blesses us with opportunities and relationships that enrich our lives.

- Financial Blessings: God provides for our needs and more, abundantly!

- Greatness: He lifts us up and empowers us to do great things in His name.

To honour God means to live a life pleasing to God, bringing glory to His name. It is more than words—it is a life fully surrendered to His will. 🙌🏽

📌 Ways We Can Honour God:

📍 Through Worship & Thanksgiving.
"O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together."
— Psalms 34:3
"Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day."
— Psalms 71:8

📍 Through the Fear of God.
"Fear God, and give glory to him... and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea."
— Revelation 14:7

📍 Through Our Bodies (Sexual Purity)
"Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost... ye are not your own?... therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."
— 1 Corinthians 6:18-20

📍 Through Our Lifestyle
"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."

Honour, A Divine Principle

Honour is a fundamental aspect of our relationship with God, others, and ourselves. It's also reflection of our character and values.

The Bible emphasizes the importance of honour-

Honour unto God:
"You shall have no other gods before Me." (Exodus 20:3)

Honour to our Parents: "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land." (Exodus 20:12)

Honour Leaders: "Obey your leaders and submit to them." (Hebrews 13:17)

Honour is not just in words but can be demonstrated by our actions , we also need to know its significance in our lives and that's what we will be looking at this month of May.
