In spite of the numerous calls and plans by the Canadian govt to reduce the rate of Temporary Residents in Canada, which was evident in the recent study permit clamp down, and then to a reduction in the number of Temporary Foreign Workers/Work Permit issuance, some essential labour fields are understandably exempted. One of these is the Construction field.

Do you have a minimum of WAEC certificate with a minimum of one year work experience in Plumbing, Electrician, Tiles Setting, Welding, Carpentry, Building/Bricklaying, or other relevant skill trades in the construction field?

If YES, then there’s a great chance of landing job offers from Canadian employers with a work permit. And if you have a CLB 4 (IELTS band 4.5), then you can be eligible for a provincial nominee program (permanent residence) offer from some of the provinces in Canada.

CANADA VISIT VISA & ITS BENEFITS

One of the easiest approaches to Canada travel is via the visit route. It is easier in the sense that it requires fewer documentations and it’s cheaper when compared to other routes. But then, there are much more to Canada visit route, when compared to several other developed countries.

While you are not legally allowed to “work” with a visit visa in Canada, you are permitted to “seek” for a job. What this implies is that, you can seek for a job with your visit visa, and then use your job offer, if you get one, to “apply” for a work permit. This enables you to switch legally from a visit visa holder to a work permit holder, thereby staying over to start working fully in Canada without having to leave after your visit term.

Mind you, this is made possible by a govt public policy, which is ending on the 28th of February 2025. So, you might have to hurry up guys!

Despite the recent clampdown on several of its immigration pathways (study, work, and visit routes), the truth is that Canada is in a dire need of professionals in certain fields. Crucial among these are the caregivers, who are needed to take care of the ageing population. ELIGIBILITY
1. You must have a minimum of O'level certificate
