*MORE ABOUT PURCHASING YOUR FLIGHT TICKET YOURSELF AND OTHERS*

*REVIEWS:*
Mastering the art of internet travel booking is the first step towards a self-sufficient, worldwide education adventure. It is not difficult to understand. Let’s go over how and when to book a flight ticket online and begin on a voyage of learning and cultural exploration.

When there are so many websites, airlines, and travel agents to choose from, booking an airline ticket can appear tricky. Flight prices constantly fluctuate, making the booking process even more difficult. However, with a bit of research and agility, you’ll be able to book your next airline ticket with ease.

*Follow this step-by-step guide to learn how and when to book a flight ticket online*

*Step 1. Look for flight tickets beforehand*
Begin your flight search as soon as possible, especially if your study abroad programme has set dates. Airlines normally issue their flight schedules 11 months in advance, and while the “perfect” time to book is debatable, booking tickets three to four months before departure can often guarantee the cheapest pricing. This is especially crucial for students whose travel dates are constrained by semester schedules. Keep an eye on cost trends and set up alerts on airline comparison websites to get notified when prices drop for your preferred route.

*Step 2. Check all the airline websites available*
Flights are the most inexpensive when you book between four months and three weeks before your departure date.
Airlines and travel agencies frequently offer student discounts, so look into those choices. Student discounts, increased baggage allowances, and flexible ticket modifications can be very useful for international students to decide how and when to book a flight ticket online. Some carriers collaborate with universities or educational programmes to provide additional benefits; check to see if your institution has any such links.

*Step 3. Enter your details on an aggregator website*
When comparing prices on flight aggregator websites, adapt your search to your academic calendar. Some services allow you to specify variable dates, which may result in cheaper choices, such as flying during the week rather than on weekends. Consider looking at nearby airports both in your home country and abroad – travelling out of or into a smaller airport can often result in big savings.

*Step 4. Choose your stops*
Long-haul flights to your study location may necessitate layovers. Consider how they will fit in with your study obligations while selecting these. A layover might be an exciting opportunity to visit another place, but it can also be a taxing addition to your travel. Consider whether layovers will impair your readiness for academic activities upon arrival.

*Step 5. Choose your seat*
Comfort is essential on lengthy trips, especially if you intend to dive right into your academics. A window seat may be perfect for reading or studying if you like silence. An aisle seat may be preferred for those who desire more freedom to move around. It’s also worth considering the advantages of paying more for an upgrade if it means you’ll arrive refreshed and ready to start your studies.

*Step 6. Choose or decline your add-ons*
Consider travel add-ons in relation to the length of your stay. If university accommodations and public transportation are available, a hotel or vehicle hire may not be essential. For longer visits, renting a car through your airline may provide you with the convenience and freedom to explore your host nation more extensively during your time off from study.

*Step 7. How to book tickets for pets and special accommodations*
Your pet must be properly carried in soft ventilated bags/kennel in the prescribed size. The weight of your pet, including the container, should not exceed 7 kgs. for carriage in the cabin.
Students with unique requirements or those travelling with pets should read the airline policies carefully. Some educational institutes may be able to help with this. Make sure you’re well-versed with the quarantine regulations, airline pet policies, and any additional expenses before you leave. If you have a disability or require assistance, make arrangements with the airline and your university before your journey.

*Step 8. Choose to add or decline insurance*
Travel insurance, especially for longer study abroad programmes, can provide peace of mind. Policies vary, but many cover trip cancellations, medical crises, and lost luggage – all of which are legitimate worries while travelling for educational purposes. Check to see if your existing health plan includes overseas coverage or if your credit card has travel insurance as a benefit, which could save you money.

*Step 9. Book your ticket*
Once you’ve selected a suitable flight, thoroughly go through all of the specifics. Mistakes made during the booking process might be expensive to correct. Check that your name matches the name on your passport and that your travel dates coincide with your academic calendar. Proceed with the payment once everything has been verified.

*Step 10. Confirm your receipt*
Keep a look out for a confirmation email containing your itinerary and receipt once you book. It is best to organise all of your trip paperwork, including visas, insurance policies, and lodging details, as well as your flight information. Having both digital and physical versions is a good idea because it gives you a backup in case of technical difficulties.

*KEY TAKEAWAYS*
Plan your flights ahead of time, especially around important academic dates, to get the greatest pricing and student discounts.

Monitor airfare prices with comparison tools, and be flexible with travel dates and airports for potential savings.

Consider stopover times and locations in relation to the need for rest and study, and select seats for comfort on long flights.

Coordinate any specific travel needs, such as pet transport or accessibility concerns, with airlines ahead of time.

Before booking, double-check all travel information and keep a well-organized record of all documents required for study abroad.

Good morning Nigerians - Home and abroad,

Today, in unity with my friend, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan , we have initiated a new era of collaboration and friendship between our nations - Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.

We've also laid a robust foundation for substantial investments in various sectors in Nigeria, a testament to our shared vision for a prosperous future.

Together, we are committed to building bridges and fostering a friendship that stands the test of time. As part of our discussions, the following have been reached:

1. Immediate lifting of the visa ban placed on Nigerian travelers by the UAE.

2. Resumption of flight schedules into and out of Nigeria by Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines, without any immediate payment required from the Nigerian government.

3. An agreed framework for new investments worth several billions of U.S. dollars into the Nigerian economy by the UAE government, covering multiple sectors including defense and agriculture.

4. A new joint foreign exchange liquidity programme between Nigeria and the UAE, details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.

5. A commitment to normalize and enhance the relations between the two countries, fostered by the collaboration between myself and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬

Do this 🚀 if you can: learn and acquire certifications in areas like Data Analytics, Data Science, IT HR / Project Management, AI in Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Advertising.

Commit to comprehensive learning; don't just settle for surface-level knowledge. Practice consistently, create projects, and build your portfolio.

Next, create (if you don't have one yet) and optimize your LinkedIn profile. Share your journey learning the skills, certifications earned, projects you're working on, etc.

This is you planning before you relocate to your dream country. When you finally do, you won't really need to do a lot to find jobs; they'll find you instead.

Please note this is not for everyone, but if you're reading this right now and you're serious about Japa- in 2024.
My advice is to dedicate 2 hours daily for the next six months while you're making your Japa moves. You will be glad you did.

You're welcome.

P.S.: I know there are other groups of people making money online through trading, freelancing, and dropshipping. You can as well skip this post 🙂

A lot of people believe that their low CGPA is a stumbling block to their graduate school dreams. This is largely untrue & I’ll tell you how to go around it.

Note that in the USA, for instance, graduate school admissions almost always come with some sort of funding.

Thread.

If your undergraduate CGPA is low:

Step 1: find a school that has low GPA requirement. How? Do a google search and after seeing some random schools, check the schools’ official websites for confirmation.

Congratulations, you’ve seen a school that accepts low GPA.

Step 2: explain why your GPA is low. How? People will tell you to avoid mentioning your GPA on your SOP or during your interview. Do not listen to them!

The admissions committee at any university will see your GPA eventually. It’s better to explain yourself in your SOP. How?
Now, even though your overall GPA may be less, chances are that you have high grades in particular areas or courses. Highlight that in your SOP & talk about how you’re ready to pursue your favorite course at their university.
Also, feel free to tell them how you were struggling emotionally after your boy/girlfriend broke up with you in your second year. Tell them you eventually overcame it & that has developed you as a person.

Chances are very high that these committee members at some point in their
life went through such rough patches too. Do not ever hold back to mention those setbacks & how you learnt to become a better person from them.

There different setbacks you can mention; financial, bad weather conditions in your university, inconsistent academic calendar etc.

Step 3:

Make sure your referees send outstanding recommendation letters. Also, highlight your volunteer activities, projects, internships, work experience, & publications (if any). This would make the admission committee see that you never lost focus on your career.

Success!
