Aviation Day at Akwaaba Brings Industry Experts Together to Address Passenger Rights, Air Cargo

Aviation Day at the 22nd Akwaaba African Travel Market held at Eko Hotels Convention Centre, Lagos brought together key industry stakeholders to discuss critical issues affecting Nigeria’s aviation and air cargo sectors.

The session featured Remi Jibodu, Ag. COO, Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd; Adebayo Olawuyi, CCO, United Nigeria Airlines; Trevor Henry, CCO, ValueJet; and Igwe Kingsley, Registrar, Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), who was represented by Ben Ojuma.

The experts examined two major industry topics: “Delayed & Cancelled Flights: The Rules & Rights of Passengers — The Airline & Airport Perspective” and “The Future of Air Cargo & Freight Forwarding in Nigeria.”

Discussions provided perspectives from both airline and airport operators on passenger rights and the challenges surrounding flight delays and cancellations, while the cargo session explored the evolving role of air freight and the future of freight forwarding in Nigeria.

The Aviation Day session underscored the importance of continued dialogue among airlines, airports, regulators and freight industry stakeholders in strengthening Nigeria’s aviation and logistics ecosystem.
