Heathrow Airport is London and the UK's biggest airport with several terminals taking passengers all over the world- but there's a bit of an anomaly passengers will notice. While you can fly from Terminals 2 to 5, you never catch a flight from Terminal 1, but it does still exist technically.
Terminal 1 has been inactive since June 29, 2015. It was opened in 1969 by Late Queen Elizabeth II and was recognised as the largest new airport terminal in Europe. It was also home to a number of airlines, such as British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. In matters of safety and security, they are regulated by the government and CAA.
