NAHCON COMMENCES PREPARATIONS FOR 1448AH/2027 HAJJ SEASON
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially commenced preparations for the 1448AH/2027 Hajj season following the release of a circular dated 15th June, 2026, addressed to all State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards and licensed Tour Operator Companies.
According to the circular, the Commission has directed all stakeholders to immediately begin Hajj registration and the collection of Hajj deposits from intending pilgrims. A minimum initial deposit of ₦4,000,000 is required from each intending pilgrim, pending the official approval of the 2027 Hajj fare.
The Commission also instructed all licensed tour operators to comply with the approved Hajj calendar and ensure they meet all licensing requirements. Existing Nusuk-Masar users are to confirm their participation for the 2027 Hajj exercise or notify NAHCON of any changes within 14 days.
Among the key policy changes for the 2027 Hajj are:
A comprehensive Hajj package that will include accommodation, essential holy site services, and half-board catering in both Makkah and Madinah.
Improved Mashaer services through the elimination of Package "D", leaving only Packages "A", "B", and "C" with enhanced service quality.
Immediate commencement of health screening for intending pilgrims and the engagement of qualified medical personnel.
Mandatory professional training and certification for all designated Hajj officials before 28 January 2027.
Intending pilgrims are encouraged to begin their registration early through their respective State Pilgrims Welfare Boards or licensed Hajj Tour Operators to avoid last-minute challenges.
NAHCON reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and successful 2027 Hajj operation while calling on all stakeholders to cooperate fully with the Commission's guidelines and timelines.
