Most schoolβs ISSO usually have a list or post of vacant accommodation or student looking for roommates who already have vacant apartment. Also, you can ask if they have any leads on how to secure off campus accommodation.
3. ASA (African Student Organization): ISSO office can furnish you with details of their executes. Reach out to them for information or assistance on how to secure accommodation.
Please be careful not to become entitled, their service is free.
4. LinkedIn: You can connect with international students in your school/ department and country. You can message them and politely express your interest in securing accommodation close to school if they have any leads, information or advice.
5. Church/ Mosque: You can Google churches/ mosques close to your school, reach out to them and ask them if they can give information that you need accommodation to rent. They most times also help with airport pick up.
6. Family/ Friends: you can ask family or friends if they know anyone in your school or location that can help with information or leads for accommodation.
7. Craigslist: Although Craigslist has some scammers, but if you know how to use Craigslist well, and you also know how to interview and suspect scammers you can use this route. Only that you have to vet them carefully.
