Amsterdam doesn’t build up—it stacks history.
These crooked canal houses aren’t just charming—they’re survivors. Tall, skinny, and leaning forward like they’re about to whisper a secret. And at the top? That hook isn’t decorative. It’s functional.

Wrapped up my last tour of the day and ducked into the Vermeer gallery for a few quiet minutes. Always gotta pay my respects to The Love Letter.

There’s something deliciously shady about this painting. A maid, a letter, a woman caught mid-glance like we’ve walked in on something private. Maybe it’s from a lover. Maybe it’s not. But the tension’s thick enough to cut.

Vermeer doesn’t waste a single brushstroke. Every object is there for a reason—like a crime scene you can’t stop staring at.

Easily my favorite Vermeer. Not because it’s the prettiest—but because it’s the juiciest.
