NORWAY EXPENSIVE?
Due to the actions of a certain Mr. D. Trump, the exchange rate of the Norwegian krone has fallen sharply in recent days. About 10 years ago, you could divide the prices by 7.5, today this factor is: 12. See the overview below.
This means that a liter of diesel (if the price in Norwegian krone has remained the same over the past 10 years) previously cost NOK 20 : 7.5 = € 2.66 and now only NOK 20 : 12 = € 1.66.
Also the groceries are more cheaper now. The only disadvantage is that the prices in the supermarket in Norway have also risen sharply in recent years. Especially for vegetables and fruit. Tip: frozen vegetables are still reasonably affordable.
The overnight prices at campsites in Norway have also risen sharply in recent years. This is due to rising energy prices and the higher costs incurred by the campsites. But if you compare the prices of campsites in high season in Europe, it turns out that a campsite in Norway is – on average – even cheaper than a campsite in Germany. Just look at the overview on this page: https://www.mt-campingsnorway.com/popular-destinations-in-norway/camping-norway.
In short: if you don't spend the whole evening drinking beer on a terrace, Norway is not that expensive at all 😊.
