Dreaming Demons Exhibition

For all of you having difficulties with your attention span, here is a very slow movie to train it ;)
These drawings from the series are called “On The Move” does it make you wonder why. Drop by on 12 or 13 September in the afternoon and I’am happy to answer all your questions.

Keesje our sweetheart and best little friend went to cat heaven today. After 16 years of joy and delight maybe a little bitchy ones in a while and holding up that paw. She always made us smile, a cuddle here a cuddle there, napping with the old boss and snoring away. Auch you will be missed so badly little lady. Goodbye sonic seducer. ### 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Dreaming Demons Exhibition

Preparations going full steam now, about 50 works from the series in 4 sizes, a wall plan. Making choices what and what not ticking my nerves :)

And woohoo I am invited by The Big Draw Nederland to show my Dreaming Demons at Expo Podium Lindenberg Nijmegen.
The exhibition takes place from 31 of August until 24 September. Ridderstraat 23, 6511 TM, Nijmegen.

I will also be part of the Group Show of the International Manga and Illustrations Expo at the International Drawing Center (IDC) Nijmegen.
The Group Show takes place from 3 September until 18 October, 13:00 — 17:00. Papengas 6, 6511 WT, Nijmegen.

During the Big Draw Festival on 12 and 13 September I will go back and forward between these two exhibition spaces.

There is also on opportunity to print your own demon during a Linocut workshop at Expo Podium Lindenberg

God Yamato

Here is the latest edition to series it’s called “God Yamato”, if there was a god of delivery efficiency it would be Yamato or Kuro Neko. If you ever visited Japan I am sure you get the point.

I was just thinking summer is gone, but it looks summer is hitting another heatwave next week. When finishing this drawing the title wouldn’t be more appropriate. In my dreams I’am heading for the Arctic!

Dreaming Demons: Super Massive Objects.
Helium filled Airships, hypersonic jets, nuclear powered subs floating under the surface. They appear like super massive objects floating in zero gravity state. Science can be baffling. If only it could be put to good use.

Dreaming Demons: Kawasaki Moon

Kawasaki-Ku the forgotten part of Tokyo. But oh do we love forgotten things. The Kawasaki Station area is actually well developed and quite fancy and pretty bussy too. But as soon you walk a couple af blocks to the North the neighbourhoods starts to change.

Further up North in Kawasaki feels sometimes a bit gnarly it’s dilapidated structures and decayed buildings talk different. Still the people are friendly, no visitors from abroad found here. Getting a can of cold coffee at a Konbini store wakes up the cashier and he’s curious where we are from and thinks we are German. Very close! We are Dutch I answer and he smiles, gives us our change and asks why Kawasaki? We love the Industrial atmosphere I answer. He is surprised, he nods, have a nice day. Same to you I say. And as we move on further to the harbour side the industry looms in the distance. It starts to rain too. We pass old workshops and although it’s a Sunday some seem to be busy working while others have no sign of life. Large industrial complexes doom up near the waterfront.
The sun goes down and the rain is getting stronger I take some last pictures. 
We are walking for about four hours now, we pass a buss stop but the surroundings are completely desolate, really nobody to be seen. Pretty gloomy around here I say and I check the timetable. Lucky Sunday I guess and in about five minutes a dimmed bus appears from over the bridge. And hey there we go back to Kawasaki Station.
