While Europe is in peak summer heat, July & August are some of the best travel months for regions in Africa. But, some countries are better choices than others.

Rwanda, Burundi & Uganda - the obvious winners: dry season, gorillas in the mist, chimps in the forest, and safari conditions that are pretty much on point.

Feeling a bit more adventurous? Try northern Cameroon, Chad, Somaliland, northern Nigeria & parts of Angola during these months.

And then the honest no-go’s for this period: Congo, DRC, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic, Eritrea & São Tomé and Príncipe. There’s more rain, humidity, and extreme heat that make travel less enjoyable.
