Flat light and slow condition today on the northern Øyerfjell. Unexpected overnight snow might of not been in the trail grooming team’s plans. Big holiday weeks now, and more stable conditions are forecasted. The golden part of winter is soon upon us.

Dreamy conditions at Kriksfjell after a very cold start. Overnight -25°C, yet the arctic high pressure with no wind and increasing influence of the sun, meant everything was bright, warm when moving and the views were outstanding.

High on top of the mountain plateau with unbelievable, perfect winter sun lighting up the mountain vista. As February moves along these days become slowly warmer and the longer challenges can be enjoyed. Today was about Short trip and going fast. Marathon training will resume amongst these warmer days.

Skiing at sunset, from Friday after a week of wind blown trails, finally the weather settled and there was skiing to enjoy.

Lots of new snow yet wind blown snow drift ensure any of the tracks above the tree line were well covered. Slow going, but fabulous when the wind was in your back. hafjellnordicski
