In anticipation of a different landscape ahead we find our way past running water and over burnished slopes of naked rock. At length we'll find ourselves up on the horizon and the glacier lies before us. Or you may want to see the moutains and glacier from a kayak in the Hardangerfjord, or from a bicycle! A grey August day on the glacier is still a day full of adventure ❄️💙

Joining our daily Blue Ice Hike is more than just a walk on ice. It is the chance to get familiar with glacier equipment, explore fascinating crevasses from the inside, and even try glacier climbing. ❄️✨ Hidden wonders in the ice ✨❄️
Every day on the glacier is different. The ice is constantly moving, melting, and reshaping itself, which means the ice caves and tunnels can change dramatically in just a matter of days.
Today, we were lucky to discover a spectacular ice tunnel on our Blue Ice Hike. Walking through shimmering blue ice, surrounded by natural formations sculpted by water and time, felt like stepping into a work of art created by nature itself. 🎨🧊
These magical places never last forever, making every visit to Folgefonna a unique experience.

🪂➡️❄️ From freefall to glacier hike!
Big smiles all around as this incredible skilled people landed on the majestic Folgefonna glacier before lacing up for a guided glacier hike with Folgefonni Breførarlag. What a way to experience one of Norway’s most spectacular natural playgrounds, only 2 hours from Bergen!
A huge thanks to the adventurous jumpers from Skydive Voss and The Innhopp Project for bringing the energy, excitement, and unforgettable moments to the ice. 🙌

In May–June, the glacier transforms rapidly — shifting from a snow-covered surface into a striking blue ice landscape. Every day looks different.
Since mid-May, we’ve been running daily guided hikes from Folgefonna Glacier Center in Jondal — and we’ll continue all the way until winter returns in November.
